Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 (Michel Rolland Mariflor)

Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. It is recommended to decant it for half an hour. World-renowned French winemaker Michel Rolland began to take an interest in South American wines in the late 1980s. About ten years later, Rolland decided to invest directly in the production of wine in Argentina, focusing not only on Malbec, the most representative grape variety in the country, but also on other varieties of French origin, such as Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc. The Mariflor vineyards extend over a total of 247 acres, of which 148 are vineyards on sand and clay soils, with exposure mainly to the east. Cabernet Sauvignon Mariflor is the latest addition to Michel Rolland's cellar. It is a 100% pure Cabernet Sauvignon matured for 12 months in French oak barrels. The wine shows a deep color. On the nose, it reveals an intense aromatic profile with fruity and herbaceous notes and spicy nuances due to the passage in wood. On the palate, it is consistent and powerful with a good body and firm but not aggressive tannins. It is a voluptuous but fresh wine with a long and slightly spicy finish. It pairs best with grilled red meats, game such as venison or hearty beef stews.
