It is notably New World in character, with rich, ripe flavours and a big, bouncy texture. It is composed of 100% Malbec grapes, harvested from Uco Valley, in the Mendoza region of Argentina. The face and founder of Mascota Vineyards is Rodolfo "Opi" Sadler, an Argentine wine-making trailblazer who has received wide renown for his Cabernet Sauvignon. However, Argentina is the country of Malbec, and Sadler does not disappoint in that domain either - his Malbec won a gold medal at the Argentina Wine Awards in 2015. La Mascota’s Unánime Malbec was sourced from Uco Valley, a high-altitude region fuelled żeby meltwater from the Andes Mountains. It is packed with lush, New World fruits, combining a subtle sweetness with fine, structural tannins. Look for flavours of cherry, blackcurrant leaf, plum jam and cocoa, with careful hints of liquorice, vanilla and minerality.
